Farmer J is a fast-casual restaurant chain serving consciously sourced meals, with a mission to make healthy food more accessible and convenient.

The ProVen VCTs – managed by VCTA member Beringea – first invested in the business in January 2024 and have invested a total of £7.5 million across two funding rounds. The funding has supported the company's ambitious growth strategy as it continues to scale its operations and expand its footprint.

Since the initial investment, Farmer J has doubled its UK presence from 10 restaurants to 20 locations. The business also reached a significant milestone in January 2026 with the opening of its first international restaurant in New York, marking the start of its US expansion strategy. To support continued growth, Farmer J completed a £17.5 million funding round, with further support from the ProVen VCTs.
